Can the “World’s Slimmest Curved Phone” actually handle intensive gaming? We took the Infinix Hot 50 Pro Plus through a 3-hour gaming marathon to test its PUBG Mobile FPS, gyro response, and most importantly, its heat management.

1. PUBG Mobile Performance Test
The Infinix Hot 50 Pro Plus is powered by the Helio G100 chipset. While it is an “Ultra” chipset, it is still limited to **40 FPS (Ultra Frame Rate)** in PUBG Mobile on Smooth graphics. If you were hoping for 60 FPS, you might be disappointed, but the stability is impressive.
In our tests, the FPS remained a constant 39-40 even in hot-drop areas like Pochinki and Military Base. The 120Hz AMOLED screen makes the movement feel fluid, even if the frame rate is locked.
2. The “Slim Body” Ergonomics
This phone is only 6.8mm thick. While it looks stunning (as we noted in our Design Awards coverage), holding it for long gaming sessions can be tricky. It feels very thin, and the curved edges mean you need to be careful with accidental touches.

3. Heat Management & Throttling
Thin phones usually struggle with heat. After 45 minutes of PUBG, the back near the camera reached 42°C. It doesn’t get “burning hot,” but you will feel the warmth. Thankfully, we didn’t notice any significant frame drops due to thermal throttling.
4. Gyroscope & Touch Sampling
The hardware gyroscope is snappy and responsive, making it a great choice for competitive players who rely on tilt-to-aim. The touch sampling rate is also high enough that you won’t feel any delay in your 4-finger claw movements.

The Infinix Hot 50 Pro Plus is a “Style First” phone that can handle gaming quite well. It’s not a dedicated gaming beast like the GT series, but for casual and semi-competitive PUBG players, it offers a stable, beautiful experience.
